d0921018fc drivers: Fix coding guidelines MISRAC:2012 Rule 14.4 do-whiles/Zero checks
MISRA C:2012 Rule 14.4 (The controlling expression of an if statement
and the controlling expression of an iteration-statement shall have
essentially Boolean type.)

Use `do { ... } while (false)' instead of `do { ... } while (0)'.
Use comparisons with zero instead of implicitly testing integers.

The commit is a subset of the original auditable-branch commit:

e99652b67d drivers: ieee802154: cc2520: Convert to DEVICE_DT_INST_DEFINE
Move driver to use {NET_}DEVICE_DT_INST_DEFINE.  This lets us
remove the IEEE802154_CC2520_DRV_NAME Kconfig symobl.

We also update the ieee802154 build_all test to actually enable
the CC2520 driver.

8ed202b43d drivers: ieee802154: fix freeing Rx buffer
This commit fixes a bug where an already received Rx frame could not be
processed by the IEEE 802.15.4 driver.

In the current implementation, buffer is marked as free and released to
the buffer pool after `nrf_802154_buffer_free_raw` finishes executing.
However, delays caused by thread scheduling might result in a new frame
being already received and provided to the driver before
`nrf_802154_buffer_free_raw` returns. Such a situation ends in an
assertion now.

This commit changes that behavior by marking the buffer as free before
calling `nrf_802154_buffer_free_raw`.

5d5dcfa0b9 drivers: ieee802154_nrf5: fix target time for indirect transmission
After change in RD into 64-bit time, target time must be express in
absolute 64-bit time. Upper layer e.g. OpenThread still utilizes only
LSB of the RD time therefore the conversion is required.
Make sure that target time is absolute 64-bit target time.

55c3afab1c drivers: ieee802154_nrf5: add log for rx failure
Some failures are possible and expected from fime to time e.g.
NRF_802154_RX_ERROR_TIMESLOT_ENDED. Add informational log for the frame
reception failure to differentiate the specific case.
It can be helpful for analizing failure in network trafic.

8c6f49c845 drivers: ieee802154_nrf5: fix delayed operation accuracy
Align clock accuracy used in CSL calculations to the value in platform.
This is recomended setting for devices working in wide range
temperature. Nevertheless it can be profiled in end product to decrease
CSL window duration and finally the power consumption.

5451c8b70f modules: hal_nordic: 802.15.4 make possible to disable CSMA-CA
Currently if an attempt to disable CSMA-CA in by setting an
appropriate flag in another (for example application)
CmakeLists.txt it caused lots of warnings. This fix allows
higher level CMakeLists.txt to disable CSMA-CA without
warnings.

Add 'cipher' namespace in some in the driver API since these
operations are for cipher.

fe851d30de drivers: ieee802154: dw1000: use spi_dt_spec
Simplify driver implementation by using spi_dt_spec. Note that driver
has 2 SPI configurations, identical except the speed. For this reason,
the slow config is still kept in RAM and copied from the one obtained
via the SPI dt_spec macros. A better solution would be to have macros
that allow to override the SPI frequency, but this can be improved
later. Most internal helpers have been adjusted to accept a device
reference to make SPI (and future GPIO) transition easier.

Due to serialization restrictions radio api calls cannot be nested, any
violation of this rule leads to a deadlock. This commit fixes the bug
by transferring the nested radio api call to ot_radio_workq.

253c59c0e5 drivers: ieee802154_nrf5: fix condition for mac keys and frame counter
For multicore devices like nRF53, shim layer part of setting mac keys
and frame counters is called on application core where
CONFIG_NRF_802154_ENCRYPTION is disabled (the define concerns radio
driver for net core). This commit replaces
CONFIG_NRF_802154_ENCRYPTION with CONFIG_IEEE802154_2015.

f3a9b8c83d net: l2: Add symbols for custom IEEE802154 L2
Define a custom IEEE802154 based L2. The user can then use those symbols
to implement their own 802.15.4 based L2, based on those symbols, w/o a

e1ba2f75cf drivers: ieee802154: nrf5: fix NULL pointer dereference
When a frame is sent with a cleared ACK request bit, the transmit
metadata contains a NULL pointer to the ACK frame.

The pointer must not be dereferenced in such case.

When stopping the interface, also abort the RX routine and enable RF
power saving. Will re-start RX on iface start.

Also fixed a bug with `cmd_fs` crashing at RF wakeup because `rf_mode`

When frame counter is managed by the radio driver the upper layer
needs to be informed about the frame counter changed. The upper layer
looks for the most recent frame counter in the transmitted frame,
this is why the tx_payload need to be updated after processed by
the radio driver.

cab64a9c61 drivers: ieee802154: copy back the TX buffer into the upper layer
Copy back the TX buffer content back into the upper layer
in case of a TX failure.

This is necessary in when frame encryption by the radio driver
is used. The shim layer for the nRF5 driver has a buffer, that
is used by the driver to authenticate and encrypt the frame
in-place. In case of a TX failure, the buffer contents
are propagated back to the upper layer. The upper layer
must use the same secured frame for retransmission.

b10428163a kernel: sem: add K_SEM_MAX_LIMIT
Currently there is no way to distinguish between a caller
explicitly asking for a semaphore with a limit that
happens to be `UINT_MAX` and a semaphore that just
has a limit "as large as possible".

Add `K_SEM_MAX_LIMIT`, currently defined to `UINT_MAX`, and akin
to `K_FOREVER` versus just passing some very large wait time.

In addition, the `k_sem_*` APIs were type-confused, where
the internal data structure was `uint32_t`, but the APIs took
and returned `unsigned int`. This changes the underlying data
structure to also use `unsigned int`, as changing the APIs
would be a (potentially) breaking change.

These changes are backwards-compatible, but it is strongly suggested
to take a quick scan for `k_sem_init` and `K_SEM_DEFINE` calls with
`UINT_MAX` (or `UINT32_MAX`) and replace them with `K_SEM_MAX_LIMIT`
where appropriate.

56f9efdebf drivers: ieee802154_nrf5: Fix initialization order
The driver was reworked recently so that driver capabilites are
obtained at runtime. The function to obtain the capabilities was
called after L2 initialization though, which is invalid as L2
initialization code already depends on certain driver capabilites.

Move the capability initializer to an earliest possible stage
(i. e. just after the core driver is initialized) to fix the issue.

a42d6c98d3 drivers: ieee802154_nrf5: Block on net_pkt allocation in the RX path
Currently, if no net_pkt's are available, the radio driver RX thread
drops the 802.15.4 frame silently. This causes undesired behaviour,
where we can drop the packet which has already been acknowledged at
the 802.15.4 level.

Fix this, by blocking the RX thread if no net_pkt is avaliable. The
packets received while the RX thread is blocked will be accumulated in
the underlying nRF 802.15.4 driver, and eventually when it runs out of
internal buffers before the thread is unblocked, it'll stop
acknowledging the incoming frames.

 - potential multi-protocol & multi-client radio operation
   (e.g. both 15.4 and BLE)
 - coexistence support with other chipsets via gpio
 - vetted TI RF driver resources, such as
   - the radio command queue
   - highly tuned / coupled RTC & RAT (RAdio Timer) API

be372872ea net: openthread: radio: Added sleep to tx as hw radio cap.
OT_RADIO_CAPS_SLEEP_TO_TX was added as a radio capability
for ieee802154 radio. Waiting on RX state before transmission
is alternative condition to OT_RADIO_CAPS_SLEEP_TO_TX support
as it was a result of OpenThread architecture and is actually
not needed in the Zephyr. Such change lets to start transmission
faster and lower SED device power consumption in active state
about 30%.

c4f7faea10 random: Include header where it is used
Unit tests were failing to build because random header was included by
kernel_includes.h. The problem is that rand32.h includes a generated
file that is either not generated or not included when building unit
tests. Also, it is better to limit the scope of this file to where it is

4f16b419e8 device: avoid casting away const from config_info pointer
The driver-specific config_info structure referenced from the device
structure is marked const.  Some drivers fail to preserve that
qualifier when casting the pointer to the driver-specific structure,
violating MISRA 11.8.

Changes produced by scripts/coccinelle/const_config_info.cocci.

Some changes proposed by the script are not included because they
reveal mutation of state through the const pointer, though the
code works as long as the driver-specific object is defined without
the const qualifier.

7e0eed9235 devicetree: allow access to all nodes
Usually, we want to operate only on "available" device
nodes ("available" means "status is okay and a matching binding is
found"), but that's not true in all cases.

Sometimes we want to operate on special nodes without matching
bindings, such as those describing memory.

To handle the distinction, change various additional devicetree APIs
making it clear that they operate only on available device nodes,
adjusting gen_defines and devicetree.h implementation details
accordingly:

- emit macros for all existing nodes in gen_defines.py, regardless
  of status or matching binding
- rename DT_NUM_INST to DT_NUM_INST_STATUS_OKAY
- rename DT_NODE_HAS_COMPAT to DT_NODE_HAS_COMPAT_STATUS_OKAY
- rename DT_INST_FOREACH to DT_INST_FOREACH_STATUS_OKAY
- rename DT_ANY_INST_ON_BUS to DT_ANY_INST_ON_BUS_STATUS_OKAY
- rewrite DT_HAS_NODE_STATUS_OKAY in terms of a new DT_NODE_HAS_STATUS
- resurrect DT_HAS_NODE in the form of DT_NODE_EXISTS
- remove DT_COMPAT_ON_BUS as a public API
- use the new default_prop_types edtlib parameter

Add initial support for Decawave DW1000
IEEE 802.15.4-2011 UWB transceiver.

Driver has basic functionality. Additional functions such
as reading out timestamps and delayed TX were implemented
for test purposes, but also require support in the 802154
subsystem.

Register, sub-register, and defaults defines in the file
ieee802154_dw1000_regs.h are taken from the Decawave's
DW1000 driver for the Mynewt OS.

87e1743ae0 devicetree: replace DT_HAS_DRV_INST with DT_INST_FOREACH
Make drivers multi-instance wherever possible using DT_INST_FOREACH.
This allows removing DT_HAS_DRV_INST in favor of making drivers just
do the right thing regardless of how many instances there are.

There are a few exceptions:

- SoC drivers which use CMake input files (like i2c_dw.c) or otherwise
  would require more time to convert than I have at the moment. For the
  sake of expediency, just inline the DT_HAS_DRV_INST expansion for
  now in these cases.

- SoC drivers which are explicitly single-instance (like the nRF SAADC
  driver). Again for the sake of expediency, drop a BUILD_ASSERT in
  those cases to make sure the assumption that all supported SoCs have
  at most one available instance is valid, failing fast otherwise.

1fb418df4c net: ieee802154_radio: Allow to specify TX mode
Even though radio driver can report in its capabilities that it does
support CSMA CA, there's no way in the driver to select how the frame
should be transmitted (with CSMA or without). As layers above radio
driver (Thread, Zigbee) can expect that both TX modes are available, we
need to extend the API to allow either of these modes.

This commits extends the API `tx` function with an extra parameter,
`ieee802154_tx_mode`, which informs the driver how the packet should be
transmitted. Currently, the following modes are specified:
* direct (regular tx, no cca, just how it worked so far),
* CCA before transmission,
* CSMA CA before transmission,
* delayed TX,
* delayed TX with CCA

Assume that radios that reported CSMA CA capability transmit in CSMA CA
mode by default, all others will support direct mode.

8614ea8e0b drivers: ieee802154: rf2xx: Fix OT ACK handling
At OpenThread stack on ieee802154_radio_handle_ack method the
net_pkt_read fail because net_pkt_cursor wasn't proper initialized.
This ensures that net_pkt_cursor is initialized for any ack frame.

Another hidden problem fixed was the frags property on net_buf. Now
it is defined as NULL to ensures that no fragments are available.

The ack frame should be returned to OT only if requested. In this
case, the IEEE 802.15.4 Frame Control field from TX frag is now
verified for an ACK request and if OT requires ACK response it will
be proper handled and dispatched.

The current design of the network-specific stack dumping APIs
is fundamentally unsafe. You cannot properly dump stack data
without information which is only available in the thread object.

In addition, this infrastructure is unnecessary. There is already
a core shell command which dumps stack information for all
active threads.

The rx timeout timer callback need update trx_state variable and this
variable is protected by a mutex. Because of that, when compiling the
system with CONFIG_ASSERT=y the system reports 'ASSERTION FAIL
[!arch_is_in_isr()] @ ZEPHYR_BASE/kernel/include/ksched.h:262'.

This refactor the driver remove trx_state variable dependency and
consequently removes phy_mutex and rx timeout timer to be compliant
with kernel rules.

happen because RF2XX transceiver asserts TRX_END interrupt after
confirm that the FCS is valid. The driver can now decode the frame
but in parallel the radio still processing the ACK frame. This will
sync the radio FSM state to ensure that ACK will be send.

7e7f05546d modules: nordic: Allow separate nRF 802.15.4 radio driver build
So far, nRF 802.15.4 radio driver build was dependent on the 802.15.4
subsystem in Zephyr. While this was a reasonable approach for samples,
it prevented the radio driver from being built as a standalone entity,
which could be useful in some applications (e. g. running core nRF
802.15.4 radio driver tests with Zephyr).

Resolve this, by providing a separate set of Kconfigs for the radio
driver, therefore allowing to build it as a separate entity. The 802154
subsystem simply enables the radio driver module in this case.

Add initial Atmel at86rf2xx transceiver driver. This driver uses device
tree to configure the physical interface. The driver had capability to
use multiple transceiver and systems with multiple bands can be used.
With this, 2.4GHz ISM and Sub-Giga can be used simultaneous.

975de21858 kconfig: Global whitespace/consistency cleanup
Clean up space errors and use a consistent style throughout the Kconfig
files. This makes reading the Kconfig files more distraction-free, helps
with grepping, and encourages the same style getting copied around
everywhere (meaning another pass hopefully won't be needed).

Go for the most common style:

 - Indent properties with a single tab, including for choices.

   Properties on choices work exactly the same syntactically as
   properties on symbols, so not sure how the no-indentation thing
   happened.

 - Indent help texts with a tab followed by two spaces

 - Put a space between 'config' and the symbol name, not a tab. This
   also helps when grepping for definitions.

 - Do '# A comment' instead of '#A comment'

I tweaked Kconfiglib a bit to find most of the stuff.

Some help texts were reflowed to 79 columns with 'gq' in Vim as well,
though not all, because I was afraid I'd accidentally mess up
formatting.
