Make minor edits as needed to the two files,
and update the TODO list.
On the NML messages file, I noticed that the
long strings of code names with lots of
parentheses and brackets were sometimes
running off the right side of the page (pdf)
and I tried lots of workarounds to get those
long lines to wrap shorter, or whatever I
could come up with.
This was all I could find, it's not very good,
so I invite others to try to do better. I
finally had to leave it and move on.

Oops, looks like JT and I were both
updating at the same time.
Should I have left the auto-message below
at the top? Sorry, I'm new at this.
Merge branch 'v2.5_branch' of ssh://git.linuxcnc.org/git/emc2 into v2.5_branch

I'm not sure what we'll finally put here, but I've started
a "skeleton" of the changes we need to make, and where we
need to make them, so that should help.
Also updated the TODO list.

I missed seeing the date on the front page of the manuals.
I don't claim to be an AsciiDoc expert, so if someone can
figure out a better way to do this, have at it.
The available choices seemed to be: (cut & pasted from)
http://www.methods.co.nz/asciidoc/chunked/ch27.html
{docdate} document last modified date
{localdate} the current date
{revdate} document revision date (from document header)
So I went with {localdate} because I thought that was the one
with behavior most like it was before. Sorry if I picked the
wrong one. The title and date also seem to appear on each
page header. There are also {localtime}, {author}, and others
that might prove handy in the future.
I did this on both the English and French master txt documents.
Also updated the TODO list and did some minor edits.

Nothing more to say here than still whittling the TODO list.
I could say that the files this time are:
docs/src/examples/spindle.txt
docs/src/hal/basic_hal.txt
docs/src/hal/comp.txt
and the ever-popular
docs/TODO
but you could find that out by looking at the commit.
One more go should finish it, but enough for now.

OK, I'll start at the bottom. Well, almost the bottom, I
happened to jump in about 80% of the way down, so I'm
kind of starting in the middle. I'll try to aim lower.
